Personalized Reading & Math Instruction for Homeschool Families
You are your child's teacher. You don't have to teach every skill alone.
Through assessment, small-group instruction, and practical guidance for home, Still Waters Learning helps children build strong academic foundations at a pace that fits the learner.
What We Work On Together
Reading
Explicit, structured literacy instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, with morphology instruction for developing and middle-grade readers.
Learn about reading instruction →Math
Focused instruction that builds number sense, conceptual understanding, computation, problem solving, and genuine mathematical confidence.
Learn about math instruction →Parent Partnership
We work alongside you, not instead of you. Parents receive practical guidance to better understand their child's needs and confidently support continued learning at home.

Instruction Begins with Understanding the Learner
Initial assessment helps identify each child's strengths, needs, and an appropriate starting point for instruction. Benchmark assessments throughout the year help me monitor growth and adjust instruction as needed. Students are grouped according to current skills and learning needs, rather than simply age or grade level.
Every child arrives somewhere. We find out where that is, and we build from there.

An Educator Who Loves This Work
I am an experienced elementary educator and hold a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I specialize in small-group, differentiated instruction and enjoy helping children strengthen foundational skills, experience success, and grow in confidence as learners.
"Every child deserves instruction that fits them, not the other way around."
Reading and math instruction takes place in my Eureka home, gathered around the dining room table or in my small home office. This comfortable, welcoming setting is ideal for focused, small-group learning. Lessons are active and engaging, with conversation, games, manipulatives, movement, practice, laughter, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and try again. Tutoring, book clubs, and optional reading practice meet virtually in my interactive online classroom using KoalaGo.
